1st option:  4 days & 3 nights - Agadir - Taroudant - Taliouine - Tazenakht - Ouarzazate - Dades - Tinghir - Merzouga - Erfoud - Nekob - Agdez - Ouarzazate - Agadir.

 

2nd option: 4 days & 3 nights - Agadir - Taroudant - Taliouine - Tazenakht - Agdez - Zagora - M’Hamid El Ghizlane - Zagora – Agdez - Ouarzazate - Agadir.

 

Description

This desert trip is for visitors who fly to Agadir and still want to see the famous gorges, the rock formations, the colors of the Dades Valley, the kasbahs and the Valley of Daraa with a visit to the movie studio in Ouarzazate and of course, enjoy the highlight of this tour, the famous camel ride at the Erg Chebbi and Chegaga dunes. This is certainly a dream journey which will stay in your memory for years to come. 

 

Schedule for option 1:

Day 1: Departure at 07:00 a.m. from your hotel. Arrive in Taroudant around 08:30 for one hour brief visit of the city walls and the medina. 9:30 continue to Taliouine. Coffee break around 11:00 and visit of the Saffron cooperative with a brief visit to the Glaoui Kasbah. 12:00 drive to Tazenakht. Lunch and visit the carpet factory. 15:00 Continue to the Famous Ait Benhaddou Kasbah. After the visit head to Ouarzazate for diner and overnight.

 

Day 2: After breakfast head to Boumalne Dades, visit the Dades Gorges and back to the main road towards Tinghir, visit the Todra Gorges followed by lunch then head to Merzouga sand dunes, diner and overnight in Merzouga.

 

Day 3: Depart Merzouga after breakfast and head to Erfoud - Nekob - Agdez with lunch break - Ouarzazate (afternoon visit to the Taourirt Kasbah and the cinema Studio and visit of the town. Dinner and overnight in Ouarzazate.

Day 4: After breakfast drive back to Agadir with a lunch break along the way.

 

Schedule for option 2:

Day 1: Departure at 07:00 a.m. from your hotel. Arrive in Taroudant around 08:30 for one hour visit of the city walls and part of the medina. 9:30 continue to Taliouine. Coffee break around 11:00 and visit of the Saffron cooperative with a brief visit to the Glaoui Kasbah. 12:00 drive to Tazenakht, lunch and visit the carpet factory. After lunch drive towards Agdez to Zagora with a break for photos along the magnificent Draa Valley; diner and overnight planned in Zagora.

Day 2: After breakfast head south to M’Hamid El Ghizlane; the drive down from Zagora is amazing and spectacular. A 2 hour camel trek is planned here, get ready for dinner and a special night in a nomad tent or even under the stars.

Day 3: Morning drive towards Zagora with coffee break then to Agdez for lunch after which you will drive towards Ouarzazate. Visit the ancient Kasbah Taourirt and the town of Ouarzazate where diner and overnight are planned.

Day 4: After breakfast, part of the morning is devoted to the visit of the cinema Studio in Ouarzazate after which you’ll head towards Agadir with coffee break, photo stop and lunch along the way. Dinner and overnight in Agadir.

 

Main highlights of both options:

- Taroudant: small fortified market town known for its local crafts.

- Taliouine: Small town on the Anti-atlas known for the Saffron festival which is celebarated at the end of October.

- Tazenakht: Taznakht is the capital by excelance of the most original and most beautiful Berber carpet in Morocco.

- Ouarzazate: The door of the desert, the area in well known for the various prominent Kasbahs.

- Dedes valley: Natural beauty at its best, the Berbers havebuilt numerous stunning kasbahs in the vacinity of the vally.

- Tinghir: The city is at the center of one of the most attractive oases in southern Morocco. Lush palm trees cover an area of about 30 miles. 

- Erfoud: Is an oasis town in the Sahara Desert due to its proximity to Merzouga desert village in the  Erg Chebbi Dunes, it has developed tourist related infrastructures such as hotels and restaurants and attracts meny visitors seeking adventure in the Sahara Desert.

- Merzouga: The village is known for its proximity to Erg Chebbi sand dunes and it is the mecca for many tourists visiting Morocco.

- Zagora: A town in the valley of the Draa River in the Souss-Massa-Draa. Each year the moussem (festival) of the Sufi saint moulay Abdelkader Jilali is celebrated here. A well known sign standing at the town border reads "Tombouctou 52 days", indicating the time it takes to get to Timbuktu, Mali on foot or perhaps on camel back.

- M'Hamid El Ghizlane: A very small oasis town in southern Morocco noted for the Nomad Festival.
