Essaouira is the sweetheart of vacationers, one can fall in love with it very easily; an attractive small town 160km from Agadir on the Atlantic Coast. Essaouira is one of the oldest cities of the kingdom, this port city used to be well known as Mogador. It’s charm is undeniable with its white washed and blue shuttered houses, art galleries, wood workshops, fishermen and colorful boats all enclosed by ancient reddish walls.

Orson Wells filmed “Othello” here, making the Portuguese ramparts famous in its opening scene. Other sites worth the look are: The women’s cooperative where Argan nuts are processed by hand into one of the most versatile oils, delicious in cooking and salads and a soothing treat for the skin.

Freshly caught fish is on the menu every day for visitors to the port.  Surfing opportunities and sunbathing on the beach make Essaouira the ideal spot for beach lovers who have the time to take advantage of what this Beautiful jewel of Morocco has to offer. Essaouira enjoys a favorable micro-climate; mild in winter and cool in summer.
