This town is Irresistible; located in the Draa Valley in southeastern Morocco close to the border with Algeria, Zagora is a personal Moroccan favorite site for a lot of visitors.
This remote town is known as the Gateway to the Desert, it is the last outpost of civilization before the vast reaches of the Sahara Desert and that’s indicated enphatically by the sign “52 days to Tambouctou.”
There's not much here for the visitor to do other than daytrips to sand dunes. If you venture out beyond town be prepared for the heat, blazing sun and blowing sand but the sand dunes here give you a sense of serinity and a feeling of freedom that cannot be equaled anywhere else.
Zagora seems to have so many bright stars and such a big moon for such a small town.
